Fly the French Pyrenees

Long valleys, big cross-country days and far fewer crowds than the Alps — the Aspe and Ossau valleys fly all summer.

The Pyrenees run in long parallel ridges, and pilots come to the Aspe and Ossau valleys for the distance flying that geometry allows. It is quieter country than the Alps, with fewer lifts and more walking, but the days are big and the scenery is wild — vultures, high passes and Spain over the crest. Pau is the nearest city.
